Raksha Masker af Sri Lanka
En Raksha-maske er en maske, som srilankere bruger meget i festivaler og kulturelle danse. Raksha betyder „dæmon“, og maskerne er apotropaiske, hvilket betyder, at det er beregnet til at afværge det onde. De er malet i levende farver med udbulende øjne og fremspringende tunger, og de skildrer forskellige typer dæmoner.
Raksha-masker er det sidste aspekt af Kolam-ritualet, og de er en hyldest til Rakshasas, et løb, der tidligere styrede Sri Lanka og kunne antage 24 forskellige former. Men kun et par af disse former udføres, hvoraf nogle er:
